Meet Nalla!

Nalla is a 5 month old spayed female red tri Aussie. She is cute and has a wonderful temperament. Nalla is outgoing and friendly. She has been around children and other dogs and is fine with both. We are not sure about cats but will find out while she is in her foster home. Nalla will need an active forever home. She is smart and has the type of temperament that would certainly make her an agility dog. She for sure would be a great hiking buddy.

Meet Mazey!

Mazey is a one year old spayed female Aussie mix. She is house trained and gets along with other dogs. She seems to be ok with cats but likely would chase them if they run. She would likely do best in a home with no children or older children. Mazey will need an active home. She is a fairly high drive dog and she will need something to occupy her intelligent mind and active body. Agility would be great for Mazey or any other dog sport. She would love to someone's hiking buddy too.

Meet Maddie!

Maddie is a two year old spayed female English Shepherd. She gets along well with everyone, other dogs, kids and cats. VERY sweet. Her previous owner surrendered her and said they didn't have time for her. She is a healthy girl and ready for a forever home. Most importantly she is awesome with children!! Amazing would be a better word. She is house trained. Knows sit, down, stay, wait and shake. Maddie gets along great with our six dogs. She is not a barker, does not get on furniture and is not food aggressive at all. Maddie needs to be with her family! If left alone for an extended time she will get into mischief. She is crate trained. Oh ya, did I mention, she is a absolute sweetheart!

Meet Dutch!

Dutch is a handsome 7 year old (DOB 4/5/2004) registered neutered male Australian Shepherd. He is house trained & ok with female dogs and neutered males. No cats or chickens please. Dutch's attitude is very calm and very sweet. He loves children. He enjoys running around the yard or playing fetch and tug-a-war. He knows "stay", "sit", "lay down", "come". Dutch is looking for a forever home that will be moderate to high activity for him. He would be a great camping/hiking buddy or a dog to take to work.

Meet Jess!

Jess's Christmas wish come true. This sweet 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog was in a kill shelter in Wy and running out of time. Now he is safe! He is good with dogs and kids. He didn't seem that interested in cats but may need futher testing. He is crate trained, learns quickly, know sit and sometimes shake. Likes women a little better than men. He can be a little timid but he is very sweet and eager to please! He likes to be petted and brushed. His personality will likely bloom once he is in a stable home environment. The shelter is a tough place for a dog. We find that herding dogs, because they are so loyal to their owners, are especially sensitive to the stress of the shelter. Jess is ready for a FOREVER home and will give back all the love he receives.

Meet Rugby!

Rugby is a 2-3 year old Australian Shepherd maybe Border Collie / spaniel ? mix. He is about knee high and about 4 feet long, weighing around 40 lbs give or take. Rugby was picked up as a stray and had been held at the County shelter in NM for almost two months. (He is presently in a foster home in Parker, CO). He is extremely thin, and came to his temporary foster a VERY hungry boy. He has been recently neutered and will need suture removal sometime next week. Rugby loves toys, plays 'fetch', enjoys playing with other dogs, is well mannered in the house (no counter surfing, no chewing, enjoys the couch, etc). He also knows how to work a doggie door and has a good appetite. He is great on a leash and rides well in a car. He sleeps quietly all night in his crate.

Rugby is a little too interested in cats and has chased one from the yard at his foster home. He is getting much better in the house, and as long as his foster mom is in the same room with him, he understands "NO" when he becomes enamored with any nearby kitty. Still, if the cats run, Rugby will give chase.

He shows no sign of food aggression, shares toys, and sometimes has to be reminded when he plays a bit too rough. He knows how to sit patiently in the kitchen next to the other dogs for his evening treat. He knows "sit", and "down". He also knows "come" and "No" so someone has spent some time with him somewhere in the past. He is a happy pup, always wanting to be petted, and always wanting to play. He is curious and takes in every new experience as it is the first time. He is a pretty quiet boy, but will bark if crated if his other doggie friends are outside and he is in the crate. He is cooperative, but high energy. He does not dig or chew and loves to be petted. Life is a fun game to him and he will play with dogs or humans for hours. Two months in the county shelter have made Rugby really want to get back to being a dog.

He has lots of play energy - LOVES to chase the tennis ball and loves to carry and "kill" his stuffed animal and yet is a mellow dog - just real easy going. He enjoys chewing on his rawhide. He sits before we throw the ball - someone has spent some time with him. Loves being in the back yard watching/chasing birds and squirrels. We have not left him alone in the house (have been crating him when we are at work which he is really good/calm about, btw) but wouldn't anticipate any destructive behavior - he's just curious about things. He has not tried to mark anything in the house. He enjoys reclining on the couch and LOVES the bed and burrowing in a pile of pillows. He sleeps well at night - he has been loose in our bedroom with his own bed. He seems to ride well in the car and he walks (drags you) on the leash. He will need some work with walking on the leash but that will come around quickly as he is smart and seemingly willing to please.

Meet Mokey!

Mokey is approximately 3 years old. He is a Border Collie mix and he is incredibly sweet. He came from a horrid situation in Mississippi where he was to be euthanized because the "humane society" there is not humane. They only gas the animals that come in there. They do not try to place them. Mokey was an emergency case and so I brought him here to get over his heartworm. He is now a healthy, very sweet guy who just wants to be near his person. He loves to go on walks and is very easy on a leash. He is good with cats and other dogs.

Meet Otis!

Otis is approximately 12 months old. He is a neutered male Akbash dog. Otis is house trained and gets along well with cats and other dogs. He is a typical puppy. Playful and sweet. Otis will do best in a fairly active home, ideally with another dog to play with. He already weighs about 90 lbs. He is well mannered but we always recommend new dogs, especially puppies, be taken through a basic obedience class. He truly is a love and will be a great companion for someone.

Meet Cash!

Cash - 4 to 5 yo Staffy/Bull Terrier mix Cash is alot of fun! He loves to run 5k's..he loves to hike 14ers, he loves to mountain bike. If you are active...he is your guy. He is not a dog for an inexperienced owner. He is a alpha dog, and can get possesive of his owner, he should be the only dog. However, he has played wonderfully with puppies! Very playful, focused and dedicated to his people. He takes his job seriously about protecting the house. He does love children, but my be to rambunctious for toddlers. He is already micro-chipped, neutered, and is house and crate trained. Cash must find a new home soon, as his master has leukemia and needs to have a sterile home. Are you the experienced, dedicated fitness buff Cash has been looking for?  Please contact:  Lissa Boillot @ 719-572-5154 or www.eapl.com and fill out an adoption application.
